Original Advice

DO: Reflect one feeling you heard, verbatim.

Echo the Feeling, Not the Story

You bulldoze the tender parts. You think fast answers prove love. They flatten people. Today, your power is restraint. When someone speaks, steal one word from their chest and hand it back unchanged: “angry,” “scared,” “lonely,” “proud.” Do not decorate it. Do not fix it. Echo it once. Then pause. Let the air rearrange around that single, honest note.

Mirroring a feeling is friction for your ego and medicine for the room. It proves you can hold fire without burning the house. People don’t need your fix; they need their reality confirmed. One word is a bridge. It slows your charge, invites theirs. It keeps you from rewriting their script. Say the feeling. Let them know you heard.

Cosmic Context
